Product Development

Pudelma 3

The product development partners of Woodpolis are mainly wood industry companies. High quality and tight grained raw material combined with high know-how and reliability give a strong basis to develop operations. The production lines of Woodpolis training factory can be used to the needs of product development. The machines and devices of the training factory enable also developing big wooden structures.

The focus of product development is to develop innovations, structural designs and carbon neutral solutions and business models to wood construction. One of the partners is Aalto University, which Woodpolis has cooperated with many years. Cooperation objects has been among others international Solar Decathlon -competition in 2010 and TES -project as well as numerous projects with Wood Program.

We use nationwide area construction subjects and participate in site booking competitions. At the moment Woodpolis is part of designing an ecological urban village to Honkasuo, Helsinki in the area of Kuninkaankolmio together with partner companies. Also Poltinaho construction site in Hämeenlinna is in progress. We have participated also to Linnanfält, Turku and E2, Kouvola competition.

Woodpolis has executed numerous different wood construction subjects together with dozens of companies. You can view more information about the pictures below by clicking their picture.
